1974 Academy Awards Streaker
No “best of” list is complete without a naked guy running across the stage, and this list’s naked guy comes courtesy of Robert Opel, a photographer and art gallery owner. During the 1974 Academy Awards, he gained access to the backstage area posing as a journalist and streaked behind David Niven flashing a peace sign moments before
Elizabeth Taylor was to be introduced as a presenter. To David Niven's credit, not only did he not bat an eye, he dropped this gem:
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, that was almost bound to happen... But isn't it fascinating to think that probably the only laugh that man will ever get in his life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?"
