The Drums at The El Rey
If you like indie pop-rock with heavy summer vibes, then you'd probably really like The Drums. They kind of remind me of a less sappy, moodier contemporary version of The Beach Boys. Although I automatically associated them with Southern California beach culture based on their music's sound and subject matter (I mean, their most famous song is about surfing) I was surprised to learn their roots are fully east coast. But today the boys of The Drums have found their way out west to bring thick reverb sound that was meant for live shows to the El Rey. [Details]
