Brian Jonestown Massacre at The Wiltern
It's a popular refrain amongst fans of Brian Jonestown Massacre, the genre-defying psychedelic rock n' roll vision of lead singer Anton Newcombe, that BJM could have been absolutely massive if it wasn't for the infighting, insanity, and serious drug issues that have at times completely derailed record contracts, world tours, and the band's entire lineup. And while this might indeed be true, one could convincingly counter-argue that a happy, successful, and sober BJM would have never been able to come up with the unbeatable grooves that make the band as wonderfully out there as they are. They hit the Wiltern in support of their new album, Aufheben, and the latest incarnation of the lineup also includes guitarist and important songwriting contributor Matt Hollywood, as well as former members of Spiritualized and Dimmer. There's never a bad time to see Brian Jonestown Massacre in concert, but this might be a particularly good time. Don't miss it. [Details] [via]
