Cocorosie @ The Fonda
Known for their raspy voices, fuzzy and woven with what one might associate as the whispers of dark fairies, Casady sisters, Bianca "Coco" and Sierra "Rosie," carry an ethereal, eeriness that never ceases to hypnotize. Their haunting instrumental spine is composed of Sierra's harp and guitar mixed with Bianca's percussion. Dubbed with the musical genre "freak folk," the duo experiments with elements of electronica, opera, blues, pop, and hip hop. With the release of their newest album, Tales of GrassWidow, Cocorosie sends one's feet running with sounds more alien and futuristic, an interesting but slight change to their usual sit-in-the-meadow. Watch closely as Cocorosie invades The Fonda tonight! [Details] [Photo via]
