GrubHub/Seamless
Whether at a 5-star restaurant or next to a truck, eating out in L.A. is a great experience. But the 5-star restaurants tend to frown on sweatpants, and trucks only stay open so long. Sometimes you just want to eat something delicious from the nonjudgmental confines of your couch, and that's where grubHub and Seamless come in. Basically, both of them offer more or less the same service, which is an online directory of all the restaurants in your area willing to deliver to you, complete with a full menu interface. You add the items to your order, enter a credit card through the app, and in the estimated delivery window, you have pizza, Pad Thai or pappadums right at your door. It would be irresponsible to say that these apps are a stoner's delight, but screw it: they're a stoner's delight. We're including both apps because, while they're more or less the same, each has a few restaurants the other one doesn't, as well as various discounts from time to time. You can also use either app to place a takeout order, which expands the options even further. Grubhub: free, available for iPhone and Android Seamless: free: available for iPhone and Android
