If, by chance, you're one of the few hip young Angelenos that

For the rest of us, the Santa Monica College-based radio station's combination of progressive-thinking local and NPR talk shows and superlative music programming is pretty much unmatched anywhere in the country, and even justifies the agonizing pledge drives and membership solicitations.
The good news is, membership has its perks, including a Fringe Benefits card that offers discounts at almost 1,000 different local businesses. With the Fringe Benefits app, you can easily see the restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bookstores near your location that you can take advantage of, as well as upcoming events that your membership guarantees you free or reduced admission to.
