Cedars-Sinai Kicks Pot Smoker Off Donor List
Wow, a lot of depressing weed news this month! But we don't make it up, we just report it, so we should probably tell you that Cedars-Sinai, which many people consider to be the finest hospital in the country, removed Toni Trujillo, a 40 year old with serious kidney illness, from the donor list due to her "substance abuse." Trujillo says the weed is totally above board and the only thing that's helped her get through dialysis and further states that she's always been up front with her doctors about her marijuana use and was never warned against it; Cedars claims the move isn't punitive and is simply done because marijuana use puts organ recipients at risk for certain types of infection. It's the second time they've done it, however, which means we may have to march across the street and give those high and mighty "doctors" a piece of our minds.
