Pearl Jam Define Grunge (1992)
The '90s put grunge on the map and Pearl Jam's performance in Virginia was a major catalyst for the movement. Eddie Vedder practically invented stage diving, which became part of Lolla folklore, followed by smashing instruments to smithereens with Vedder, drummer Dave Abbruzzese and guitarist Stone Gossard thrashing mic stands and guitars to bits and kicking over drum sets. The band literally smashed their way into the mainstream.
