Are there a lot of local musicians there that you're a fan of?

CB: What's interesting about Oakland is historically there are a lot of bands coming out of there. Right now, there's this dude Neff the Pharaoh, he's a rapper he's from Vallejo, he's blowing up right now. E-40 is a local hero; Lil B the Based God. Oakland rap is a weird thing, where if you're in the Bay Area, it's everything, but if you go out of it...that's kind of what happens in L.A rock: if you're in L.A, or you're accepted in the LA scene and you're from somewhere else like us, you know all these bands. But it's really hard for them to break out of L.A.

And that's where people like Hedi come in.

CB: Yeah he elevates them which is awesome because that's a scene that without someone like Hedi, it would just die in a few years, and it wouldn't be remembered, but he is doing his part to canonize the better parts of that music.
