Artemio "A Requiem for Maria"
Throughout the month of March, Y Gallery will be coverted into a temple for Mexican artist Artemio's exhibition, "A Requiem for Maria," celebrating the life of artist Maria Alos.
Artemio's body of work explores the dichotomy between "appropriation of weaponry imagery and a recapturing of spiritual symbols," questions the transient relationship between life and death, and demonstrates how art itself can become a ritual offering for deceased loved ones.
Opening Reception: Friday, March 9, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
