Nelson Saiers: "Prime Example of Narcissism" (2014)

N. S.: "Prime Example of Narcissism" reflects on narcissism in the prime numbers. So, the colorful dots. The location of each colorful dot is a location of a prime number. Now, the prime numbers are a very, very important set of numbers for mathematics, and really in human thought in general. And so, in addition to the prime numbers being represented there, there's also, in blue, my name written in Braille—"Nelson." Most of the dots represent a prime number. A certain set of them say my name in Braille. And the idea being that it's the height of narcissism to embed your name in these very, very important mathematical numbers. So that's what this piece is about.
