Nelson Saiers: "Love is Blind" (2014)

N. S.: The piece "Love is Blind" is the first in a series of paintings where I wrestle with the nature of love, and address its true meaning. On a black background you'll see white dots that spell the word "love" in Braille; although you'll see that there's one red blemish. And another white dot is in the process of covering that red blemish.

Here, I try to convey that love is actually not blind but love sees quite clearly, and sees both our good and also our bad. And is joyfully willing to actually cover the bad. So, love is actually not blind.
