Pork Slope
Former "Top Chef" star Dale Talde has literally created his own corner in Park Slope. Talde started in Asian restaurants, and first brought the self-named Talde to the Brooklyn neighborhood. His newest collaboration is the Thistle Hill Tavern, but in between, came Pork Slope, something more down-to-earth and much greater than his previous endeavors. A roadside BBQ house and a great place to grab a drink, Pork Slope is an American road house, slightly inspired by the
Patrick Swayze movie of the same name. It's more focused on being a bar--$5 beer and shot specials and a 100-shot club--the menu reads like simple, 2am bar food. But the cornbread, the cheese bratwurst patty ("Porky Melt"), and the pork shoulder with chilies all make Pork Slope more than a mere whiskey bar.
