Rooney Mara was born into a family that loves football, being the granddaughter of not one but two founders of major league football franchises. Paternal grandfather Tim Mara was the founder of the NY Giants, and Art Rooney, her maternal grandfather, was the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rooney was quoted by the NY Post stating American Football as,"the glue that holds our family together."
