Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy
The most inspirational moment last night came when Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy brought her personal hero onstage with her to accept the award. The woman was one of the acid attack survivors, who had just recently spoken out and put her husband in jail. Glamour brought her out to the awards, along with her children who stood by her side throughout the entire trial. Obaid-Chinoy won an Oscar earlier this year for the film "Saving Face," which gives acid-violence survivors a chance to tell their stories. This year Glamour's Women of the Year Fund is working with Obaid-Chinoy's campaign Project SAAVE (Stand Against Acid Violence), to help bring medical care to acid-attack victims. Go HERE to donate!
