Silhouettes

Many modern ballets feature soft chiffon wrap skirts rather than the thicker tutus of jewelry box ballerinas and Degas' La Petite Danseuse de Quatorze Ans. Luckily for you, soft chiffon is much easier to wear on the street than a stiff tutu. For tops, we're taking our inspiration from the simplicity of Wheeldon: tight leos (camis if you're not feeling that brave) gathered at the bust.

If you're feeling more casual, try pulling a pair of loose-legged sweats over your leo and shuffling about elegantly. (But this look isn't really about casual; it's about beauty.) If you've got the chills try a nice cashmere tie sweater.
