Coming from out of town, what’s your advice for someone who wants to get into nightlife and be as social as you?
Be open to a variety of things and never be discouraged. You have to be confident with yourself and know who you are. I mean a lot of people come here and find themselves but that can get you lost pretty quick I would say. When I came here I figured out I loved going out, and I would go out 6 nights a week and have business cards in my pocket and give one out every night, and I figured by the end of the year I would know 250 plus people in some way shape or form and they would know me. And I just kept doing that and it was pretty exhausting. Before Djing, I had no reason to give out cards (laughs). I just figured everyone in New York is going out all the time no matter who they are, so it was an interesting way to network my way through the city. I love people. My business is kind of people.
