The guest selection is extremely important to us. You know, a salon is a very difficult recipe to assemble—you need the right mix of people. Gertrude Stein’s Salon was Gertrude Stein’s Salon because you had Pablo Picasso next to Hemingway next to Apollinaire. And for us, we want to assemble each time, similarly, the perfect mix of people. So the perfect mix would be an artist, who’s actually faced with another artist who’s not showing his work but can comment on it, an art critic, and a very established collector. But also maybe a lawyer, an art student, a journalist, a model, or a butcher. People who can bring different perspectives and contribute in an interesting way to the discussion.
