How is the process of painting different, mentally and creatively, than when you're designing or producing music?
Painting is totally a one man game. It’s a loner’s game. Painting gives you a lot of time to yourself. Music and fashion take teams. The only time you need a team in painting is after the work is already done unless you choose to have teams to produce big pieces. Painting can teach you a lot about yourself because you are in solitude. You have time to think and dig deep. I like to compare painting to song-writing. Both are very “inward” and only have to be collaborative if you choose to.
