Saturday: Black Seed Bagels

Saturday we donned our best explorin’ hats and braved the great wide world of downtown in search of elusive prey, a.k.a. the “Perfect Bagel.” Black Seed Bagel was our target and not waiting in line all day was our goal. Forty-Five minutes, four new friends, and one cup of free line-waitin’ coffee later, we were in bagel heaven. We don’t do lines, hence we never got taken in by the cronut craze, but Black Seed just makes line-waiters out of us. Or we might just go when the rest of you suckers are working your 9-5 jobs. It was pretty painless and seeing co-proprietor Matt’s sisters waiting in line while munching on our bagel-bounty really legitimized “The Wait.” Two things you need to know: the bagels come out piping hot so there's no need to ask for them to be toasted AND the shop is so crowded and busy that you may need to wipe the last customer's sesame seeds off your table, so grab a couple extra napkins when you get your order.
