Wednesday: American Express Bash

Wednesday we went to what we thought was going to be a super lame corporate party thrown by Amex, but we should have known better because our friends at Extra Extra where behind the festivities and they really know how to spend other people’s money! We walked in to some excellent tunes but didn’t see a DJ right away and thought “Someone got their teenager to put together a solid playlist on an iPod!” Then we rounded the corner and were greeted by our new fave, DJ Kiss, playing her heart out in the middle of a pile of groceries. As soon as she saw us she said “Dammit now I have to start playing for real!” We know exactly how she feels, it’s one thing to play for a room full of civilians, but the moment we spot a fellow DJ in the crowd, our show-off instinct kicks into overdrive! God forbid another DJ hears us repeat a mix from another party or isn’t impressed with a transition that's not as cleverly executed as possible.
