Carmen Dell'Orefice looking flawless!
We're not sure if fashion model Carmen Dell'Orefice and Austrian Ambassador Dr. Hans Peter Manz coordinated their outfits on purpose but as a pair they were our favorite look of the evening. What makes Carmen's fashion choices so stunning is that she ignores the primary sartorial advantage women hold at formal events: color. The rare splash of color acceptable for men at a white tie affair, the sashes and medals, are bestowed or won, not selected off the rack to match a mood or complexion. You don't get to choose which shade of purple your purple heart is. Carmen shows us what can be accomplished with line form and texture, not to mention coordinating perfectly with any gentleman she might dance with later on.
