Cucumber Collins at Sweet Afton
The Cucumber Collins itself is not a new invention, but over time it has fallen out of popularity and off most menus. However, at Sweet Afton in Astoria, nobody has done it better. This gin-based drink gives a summer feel in the winter, and keeps things light during all the eating that goes on this time of year. A few slices of cucumber are combined with lemon juice and simple syrup, muddled, then topped with soda in a high ball glass.
