Vida Old-Fashioned at The Dutch

Vida Old-Fashioned at The Dutch
Smokier and less distilled than tequila, mezcal makes for a good pick me up when the temperature drops. It comes from maguey, a type of agave plant native to Mexico. At The Dutch, they add mezcal to an even lesser known spice called cardamom, which is the world's most expensive spice by weight. The smoky mezcal with the ginger-like cardamom is mixed with vanilla bitters to make the Vida Old-Fashioned. On top of that, in some Asian countries, the spice that goes into a Vida Old Fashioned is used as a traditional medicine. So, if you don't feel your best but want to go out, the Vida at The Dutch is the way to go. The Dutch-131 Sullivan Street [Photo via]
