New York Restoration Project
Founded by singer/comedian
Bette Midler, the New York Restoration Project aims to restore city parks and create new local gardens. Working in partnership with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and Americorps, the New York Restoration Project has planted hundreds of trees and flowers and cleaned up thousands of pounds of trash. There are plenty of volunteer opportunities around the city which you can gain access to by applying to become a NYPR Volunteer Corps Member or a community gardener. Those looking to support the cause but lacking a green thumb can donate to the charity and check the calendar for upcoming events and programs.
