Harry Thaw

Harry Thaw was heir to a mining and railroad fortune out in the Midwest, because that's a place that we totally remember still exists. Thaw was not an ideal husband because he partied hard and was a known philanderer. Yet it rubbed him the wrong way when he found out that his wife Evelyn was having an inappropriate relationship with another man, architect Stanford White. So, instead of working things out in couples therapy or reining in his own reckless behavior, Thaw goes and murders White. Well, spoiled rich kids aren't exactly known for self-control, so of course that was the only answer in his mind.

Thaw was found not guilty for reasons of insanity. He was set free, and ended up writing a book about his ordeal. Instead of owning up to what he did and saying he was wrong, he said that he would "kill [White] tomorrow [if he had the chance]." We don't know about you, but we're starting to notice a pattern here of men having trouble taking responsibility for their actions. Interesting.
