Other details: Last night, guests gathered at Jazz at Lincoln Center for the Children's Health Fund Gala. After a dinner overlooking Columbus Circle, guests were ushered into Frederick Rose Hall. There, Paul Simon, co-founder of the organization, presented various awards to individuals and organizations who had contributed to their efforts. In particular, the Jaguar Land Rover North America was honored for their grant to fund the organization's "Healthy and Ready to Learn School". After the awards, Julianne Moore Joined Jane Pauley in an attempt to raise money through "text-in" donations. In under 10 minutes, the duo raised over $200,000. The show ended with a song performed by Aaron Neville, Dave Matthews, and Paul Simon. The event concluded with a dessert reception. Overall, the evening raised over $1.7 Million, which will go towards insuring children in underprivileged neighborhoods receive the medical attention they need.
