Tanoshi Sushi

Tanoshi Sushi
Chef Toshio’s goal for his restaurant is to change the classical sushi “roll” binge of NYC by returning to the essence of sushi production. As a result, Tanoshi Sushi brings back the simplicity and beauty of sushi by creating meals that allow for the true flavors of fish and rice to mold, rendering a memorable dining experience. In fact, Chef Toshio paints each piece of sushi with a brushstroke of his special soy sauce, “nikiri,” so no extra sauce is needed. For sushi Connoisseurs, Tanoshi Sushi’s philosophy and dedication to sushi mirrors that of Sukiyabashi Jiro, the Michelin Guide 3-star restaurant of Tokyo. Although Tanoshi Sushi offers a small selection of sushi staples, the chef’s choice of the day menu is recommended. Tanoshi Sushi, 1372 York Avenue [Photo via]
