The latest special occasion-worthy fine dining restaurant has arrived!

Following the opening of upscale pizza joint Mel's next door, Chef Melissa Rodriguez and restaurateur Jeff Katz have unveiled Al Coro, a party-ready Italian eatery inside the swanky West Side space which famously housed Del Posto since 2005.

The stylish destination has been revamped by architecture and design firm MN in collaboration with Creative Consultant Akari Endo-Gaut, boasting plush new furnishings, mood lighting, and new structural arches that provide cozy corners and intimate private nooks in the soaring dining room. There's also a new backlit Deadalus stone bar serving as the room's impressive focal point.

With plenty of accommodations for large groups and a bandstand to host live music on the mezzanine nightly, Al Coro sets the perfect scene for any type of celebration.

As for the food? With Chef Melissa leading the kitchen, you obviously won't be disappointed. Two tasting menu options are available - a five-course and a seven-course - which will highlight hyper-seasonal fare and, apparently, change as often as every six weeks. Foodies can expect regional Italian specialties and creative riffs on classic dishes, including Sardinian culurgiones (like ravioli) topped with caviar, whole roasted sea bass Marsala, and even a Southern Italian take on Peking Duck.

If you don't have an excuse to gather up all your friends for a fancy night out? Well, a reservation here is reason enough to celebrate.
