What inspired Cogent to publish a book? Who came up with the name?
More and more of our clients were looking to leverage influencers instead of celebrities and we realized there was no central location that showcased the breadth of influencers and the brands they work with. With Under The Influence, we are creating a hub for influencers of all levels with various books across all genres as discovery tools for our brand clients. The name was born from a team brainstorm, thinking of a clever play on words with "influence."

How did you select who made it into the book? What were the requirements?
Rather than focusing on following counts, we wanted to focus on the hottest style influencers creating the most compelling branded content in the space

What does it mean to be an influencer in New York City?
We define influencers as those who are really able to make an impact on others and are able to cut through the clutter in a crowded space. Authenticity is key.
