Having Exactly The Same Interests
The key here is to keep it interesting; you don't have to have the exact same interests. If he's in finance and you're a journalist, that's two totally different worlds and gives you so many opportunities for interesting conversations. Honestly, it will get boring if you're into all the same things because there's only so much you can talk about.
