Why You Hate Social Media
Social media is BS, but a lot of us still love it.. Yeah it can be toxic and there are a lot of valid reasons to not be on it, but it can be a fun diversion and a cool form of self expression if you internalize it healthily! We get that at the end of the day social media is not reality. It's a refined microscopic snippet of someone's life at a really good angle, likely when they're sucking it in and hanging out with people they don't even like. The Rich Kids of Instagram have probably shopped at Target, Kylie Jenner has probably gotten a zit, and Jay Alvarrez has probably spent the day staring at his phone for 6 hours with nothing to do instead of going skydiving in exotic places with house music thumping in the background. You may think it's pernicious or stupid, but we think it's a fun form of escapism. So what?
