Splitting the bill

Modern women are totally fine splitting the check, but common courtesy dictates that the asker should treat the askee, whether that involves a meal, a couple of coffees, or tickets to a comedy show. However, both parties should alternate rounds at a bar, or pay for themselves. First drink is on the asker, though.
