PAPER magazine held its annual "Beautiful People," party with ABSOLUT Wild Tea last night at Good Units at the Hudson Hotel drawing out a crowd, predominantly dressed in black and leather, that fit the description. Cover boy Aziz Ansari played host,  and drew some fanfare, but the real excitement was reserved for the performance by Duran Duran. Take a look at the pics and video below! This was no ordinary world.

While the doors opened at 8pm, the majority of people came fashionably late with the downstairs bars, downstairs main area and upper level quickly getting packed around 9pm. That gave guests a solid hour of people watching, judging each others outfits, acting aloof but cool,  and hitting the ABSOLUT open bar before Duran Duran took the stage. Erin Fetherston, Cobra Starship, MNDR, Sophia Lamar and Diane Birch are just a few notable names that turned out.

Although the average age range hovered in the early 20's, people were excited for the '80's giants who played favorites like "Hungry Like The Wolf," "Girls on Film," and "All You Need Is Now." For the most part. I was up near the front, some two feet away from the stage, and the people around me were definitely dancing, rocking out, and taking a billion pictures on their cell phones. The enthusiasm was high. But when I looked up in the balcony there were more than a few skinny, lanky, bleached blond types in furs (both men and women) who retained their constant expression of bored. But that's to be expected. And it's their loss because look at this...

PAPER also held a party in LA. Take a look: [Inside Paper Magazine's Beautiful People Party 2011]
