The Rolling Stones, Super Bowl XL, 2006

Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger was 62 years-old when he rocked out with his band at Super Bowl XL, but the Stones proved that even old-timers can make a crowd go wild and they managed to get through their entire set without breaking from their set list (or breaking a bone). The Stones may have even been a bit too sprightly: still nervous from Janet’s wardrobe malfunction, broadcasters introduced a 5-second delay for the first time in 2006, and a few lyrics were deemed too sexually suggestive and cut from two of the songs. The censorship went largely unnoticed though, thanks to the stage, which was a replica of the band’s tongue logo.
