Sapporo Snow Festival
The Sapporo Snow Festival attracts numerous international visitors each year. It's regarded as one of Japan's biggest winter events and for good reason. The festival debuts the works of ice sculptors from around the world. The 7 day event literally turns Sapporo into a winter wonderland. 2013 will be the 64th Sapporo Snow Festival and the 40th Snow Sculpture Contest-the biggest attraction at this festival. 16 competing countries attempt to make the most intricate, and breathtaking ice sculptures.
