Another Western city, although this one has a decidedly more relaxed feel. Maybe it's all the endorphins exuded from ultra-fit and outdoorsy people, or maybe it's a certain herb, but we could easily opt for a weekend - or several years - in Colorado over Brooklyn. We don't have any doubts as to why Denver is one of the country's fastest growing cities. Scale the mountains surrounding the Mile High City, before heading back to civilization for edibles at local restaurants. Union Station offers shopping and dining and could easily go head to head with Chelsea Market or Reading Terminal.
