Leigh Anne Arnold

Leigh Anne Arnold
While you can always count on spotting cute girls sporting either the classic cocktail or the little black dress at DC events, it is always refreshing to see somebody take a risk. Leigh Anne Arnold's outfit is proof that taking the plunge into uncharted territories of cocktail attire can lead to a whole new world of fashion-forward fierceness. Leigh Anne's Kookai dress put all of the other LBDs to shame with its edgy high-low style. While I've seen a few adorable high-low skirts being strutted about town during the hot summer months, this is the first ensemble I have ever seen that incorporates the trend in a semi-formal style. The longer skirt's sheer fabric adds a sexy sophistication to the frock, while the skirt's fuller circumference covers enough to keep the ensemble from showing too much skin. One pitfall the high-low style can fall into is being too short on the sides and not incorporating enough train, which can look kind of trashy in the end. This dress's incorporation of a high hemline and a separate low hemline keep Leigh Anne's outfit classy instead of trashy. She kept to her all-black theme with her accenting pumps and dark metal bib necklace. Her vampy red lipstick provided the only color pop she needed to complete her look and show off her pretty smile.
