Where do you get daily inspiration? The whole idea of dreams inspiring works of art always fascinated me and is often seen through my favorite period of art, the Romantic Period. I immediately saw a connection between the dream I had and one of my favorite artists Francisco Goya's "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters" which is an etching that shows the artist Francisco asleep with monsters and bats and owls hovering over him. The description he had for this piece was "Fantasy abandoned by reason produces impossible monsters: united with her, she is the mother of the arts and the origin of their marvels." So all together you could say it was a little bit of my own experience, a little Romanticism and a little Francisco Goya. For the sake of the importance of my inspiration, I'm sticking with my original title "The Sleep of Reason." [Photo via @kendraleee]
