Where: Mango Tree @ City Center Other details: On Thursday, February 12, Capitol File and Mango Tree hosted the grand opening of Mango Tree Restaurant in DC's blooming City Center. The modern Thai restaurant is brought to DC by renowned restaurateurs Pitaya Phanphensophon and Richard Sandoval.  Walking into the beautiful venue, guests were greeted in Thai by exotically dressed servers. Attendees were served delicious cocktails: an exotic sweet "Lychee Bellini" which brings you to a warm beach destination with each sip, and the "Khing Wiski," which is bound to make you forget  the wintery streets of DC. Along with Mango Tree's tangy cocktails, trays of appetizers and desserts circled around the room, some of the favorites being the fried tofu the warm crispy spring rolls, and the shrimp with a tad of spice. Two traditional Thai dancers, adorned in beautiful jewel-tone clothing performed for the crowd as guest enjoyed Mango Tree's warm ambiance. Do yourself a favor and take a short trip to Thailand by visiting this great new spot. Mango Tree is certainly not one restaurant you want to miss.
