Last Night's Parties: DC Fashion Week, The 7th Annual Heroes Gala, & More!

Where: The Yards Park Other details: This past weekend, The Yards welcomed Laser Cat, a 20-foot tall inflatable cat head that projected lasers and art from its eyes. Presented by Washington Project for the Arts and Forest City, Laser Cat took over the Yards Park with a total of three weekend events. Two adult events were held on Friday and Saturday nights and Laser Cat Kids during the day on Saturday. Friday evening featured a live DJ’s fueling the Laser Cat party, led by Thievery Corporation’s Eric Hilton while Saturday evening’s party featured project images produced by local artists, accompanied by beats from Laser Cat. On Saturday afternoon, Laser Cat Kids included a cat ear crafting station, face painting, glitter tattoos, a balloon artist and the Great Laser Cat. The weekend's events took place under a heated tent with a beer garden and other program components will be adjacent to the historic industrial building. Even with the freezing temperatures and snow we had about 2000 people come out to the Laser Cat festivities.
