Samantha Lauber, Marched in Lincoln, Nebraska

I marchedĀ for the women that were put in danger long before Trump's presidency, and for those that look like me who voted to put those women and all women into further danger. I voted for a country that believes in dreams, but seems to have lost its footing in reality. And I marched because I'm scared out of my mind, and the comfort of thousands of women and men in a small city in Nebraska (notably not a coastal, liberal elite state) feeling as scared as me was something I never could have guessed I needed. This is what democracy looks like; this is how America responds.
