Romina Rosenow, Marched in LA
I marched because after all these years women are STILL under attack for wanting to have control over their own bodies. Because the environmental reform of recent years is already being rolled back. Because I can't sit around while the administration tells us that they're 'for the people' while putting their billionaire business friends in places of power, enacting policies to line their own pockets, and not taking the banks to task for continually defrauding citizens (slapping on a fine doesn't count). I marched because I am sick of seeing all of the USA's problems being blamed on immigrants and poor people. I marched because I am tired of watching politicians tell people what they want to hear, and then go do the opposite once they are elected.
Most of all, I marched because my mother immigrated from Argentina during the '80s military dictatorship and I think it's important to dissent and exercise our 1st amendment rights - she did not have that privilege. These rights can be chipped away - yes, even in the US - if we are too complacent.
