Fusion Hair Extensions
This is the most popular type of hair extension method. It is virtually impossible to detect from natural hair, can be styled and washed regularly, and you can also wear your hair up in a ponytail. Fusion extensions last anywhere from three to six months. Fusion hair extensions are also known as keratin extensions. A keratin-based bonding material is heated up and is applied to the base of the extension with a glue applicator. It is then attached to the base of your natural hair close to the scalp. This is the commonly used technique and is also known as hot fusion. Keratin is less damaging than other bonding materials because 90% of human hair is made up of keratin, and hence there is a natural affinity. In cold-fusion method, ultrasonic waves are used to melt the keratin and the bonding material remains cold. Both methods are quite popular to build length and volume. The fusion methods are permanent methods. You will require a stylist’s help to remove them. The bonding does cause some stress to your natural hair and is not completely damage-free.
