Only In New York...

Only In New York...
New Yorkers see themselves as the “citizen policemen” of their city, which means if New Yorkers don't like something you are doing, like cutting in line at Whole Foods, they will tell you. But since this “neighbourhood watch-like” development started, the city has become a lot safer than it was in the '70s. The shared struggle of “trying to make it in NYC” - with high rent, small apartments, tough job market & especially a tragedy like 9/11 - has bound people together with a sense of common cause. This is why when New Yorkers see a stranger, they think, "We’re in this together." Winner: NYC, for taking the “Come Together” song by the Beatles quite literally. [Photo via]
