Revolution In A Can
Berliners and New Yorkers like to paint on walls. Although the birthplace of graffiti may have been New York City, the street art scene has taken off in Berlin since the '70s, sprucing up the characterless architecture that appeared after the ravages of WWII. In saying that, NYC is still a big player in the graffiti scene.
My favourite sprayed spots in NYC are
5Pointz in Long Island City, 190 Bowery on the Lower East Side,
Bushwick Five Points in Bushwick, St. Nicholas Avenue and Troutman Street, Welling Court Murals in Astoria, Freedom Tunnel on the West side of Manhattan, and beneath Riverside Park.
Winner: Tie. The graffiti in both cities blows viewers’ minds all over the walls, complementing the graffiti that’s already there.
