Last night the Cinema Society and Nancy Gonzalez hosted a screening of Kelly Reichardt's latest film, "Meek's Cutoff," at Landmark Sunshine Cinema. After, guests hit the Jimmy at the James. Let's take a look at the red carpet!
"Meek's Cutoff," is a simplistic but suspenseful narrative that's set in 1845 and follows pioneer families as they struggle to survive crossing the Oregon Trail with a scout who seems to have lost his way. Michelle Williams stars in the leading role, along with Paul Dano, Zoe Kazan, and Bruce Greenwood.
It's already generating a buzz. From Sundance:
"The film's unadorned aesthetic yields a morally complex drama and meditation on human nature."
It was a star-studded viewing, bringing in Sheryl Crow, Shalom Harlow, Fred Armisen, Anna Sui, Sofia Coppola and more. After the screening, guests head over to the Jimmy at the James hotel for Appleton Estate cocktails. You can read more about the after party HERE.
