Selfridges flagship store caters to the bookworm in everyone…at least for the next seven weeks. In early January, Selfridges launched a 3,500 square foot pop-up library, where 15,000 books will be available for shoppers to purchase. The library is located in the store’s basement Ultralounge area, and visitors are invited to read their new books while lounging on couches and chairs scattered throughout the room. The pop-up library is part of a storewide celebration of the printed word called the Words, Words, Words event. For the event, Selfridges is also offering classes in Latin, Greek philosophy, and grammar, a series of lectures, and a Words Words Words shop, where stationary, journals, and rare and first edition books will be sold.
