9. Olympic Medalist, Ryan Lochte, makes history as the fourth man to ever grace the cover of Vogue. Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, is a long time fan of sports such as tennis and basketball. The cover is a merging of the two worlds, fashion and sports. The cover also is promoting healthy bodies as Vogue has become a major advocate in stopping eating disorders. In her article for NY Mag, Charlotte Cowles writes,
"this cover probably has something to do with Vogue's new pact to fight eating disorders, which involves using healthy models at all times. The June issue will also feature a spread dedicated to the new initiative (it's unclear whether this spread and the 'healthy model' spread are one and the same)."
