4. Gucci's show is a fashion funeral in Milan Fashion Week. As a metaphor for Europe's declining economy,
Gucci's show was very dark and ominous with mostly black clothing.
Frida Giannini described her collection as "dark glamour," using inspiration from "romanticism" and "19th century military" attire. Analysts have said sales already declined 5.2% in 2012. On the economy, Milan's Fashion Week president,
Mario Boselli, said,
"Our fear is to see again what happened between 2008 and 2009, when fashion sales dropped by 15 per cent. This time it shouldn't be as bad, because brands have slimmed down their operations and expanded in emerging countries."
